Here is a small presentation on atom.
•Atoms are the building blocks isbasic units of matter.
•They are the smallest unit of a chemical element having the properties of that element.
•Atom is the smallest unit of matter that takes part in a chemical reaction.
•Whole number of atoms of different elements combine together to give compound atoms(molecules).
•They consist of three smaller particles called protons,neutrons and electrons.
•Atoms are made of two divisions namely nucleus consisting of protons and neutrons,and electrons which swarm round the nucleus.

Hi Shanty, I love your stories about chemistry :)! The theory of atom might be something I'll always keep in mind. One of my university lecturers used to give us some of the most remarkable analogies. Like this smallest unit of element here would be a reflection of balance and sharing as important factors in life. Atoms always try to seek for balance according to the rule of octet, either by taking or giving electrons in their outer circle to provide stability with 8 electrons. So if even the smallest part of our life's goes by this rule, don't you think that we also should go by it in general :). Have a great week.
