Such a beautiful story!!!!!

Two men, both seriously ill,occupied the same hospital room.


One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs

His bed was next to the room's only window.

The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.

The men spoke for hours about of their wives, families, holidays etc.

Every afternoon when the man near the window could sit up ,he would pass the time describing to his room mate all the things he could see outside the window.


The window over looked a park with a lovely lake.The ducks and swans played on the water, while the children sailed their model boats.Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color and fine view of the city.Skyline could be seen in the distance.


As the man by the window described all this in exquisite details the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine this picturesque scene.


Days, weeks and months passed by.One morning the man by the window died peacefully in his sleep.


As soon as the appropriate time came , the other man expressed his desire to shift to the bed near the window.He looked out of the window hoping to see the beautiful world which was described to him.


Alas!To his dismay he saw a blank wall only.

When he asked the nurse what could have made the man give such descriptions, she said that man was blind and could not see even the blank wall."Perhaps he wanted to encourage you"


There is tremendous happiness in making others happy despite our own situations.


Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared is doubled.
